Farm holiday!

The big Lawrences wanted to go to a fancy restaurant in the middle of Victoria with our fave travelling companions. As they are far more organised than we are, they found a fantastic farm for us all to stay on, which ended up being far more memorable than the fancy (and fabulous) restaurant.

Over the course of the weekend we (ie. the kids):

  • did a teeny tiny bushwalk with the kids (and when it was time to turn around and head back Jasmine said she didn't want to 'because it's lovely here')
  • saw kangaroos, emus, cows, horses, sheep and chooks
  • got to feed the chooks and walk through their slipery-slidey-muddy-pooey run
  • went to a gigantic bonfire on the property and ate toasted marshmellows (still being talked about incessantly)
  • did LOADS of bike riding on dirt lanes and through huge muddy puddles
It was so beautiful, relaxing and fun. Here are some snaps (thanks Robyn!).

The hard questions

The days of me being able to answer Jasmine's questions correctly are numbered. Thank goodness for Wikipedia!

These are a few of the questions Jasmine has asked me lately.
But how did Daddy put the seed in your tummy mummy?
How do you make glass?
How do you go around the world?
Is a fire hotter than the stove?
How do you make electricity?
Where does everything go after it has been on fire?
Where does the poo and wee go when you flush the toilet?
How do you make paper?
Where does the rain come from?
What makes thunder?

At the moment I am living safe in the knowledge Jasmine still believes I am the Oracle Of All Knowledge. Sadly, those days are numbered too.

A few of my favourite things...

Some of my favourite words Beau's  been saying lately:

Poggie: porridge - this one's so cute and so constant that I don't think we'll ever call it porridge in our house again.
Paata: pasta - Beau's other favourite food.
Dapin: Jasmine - Beau's favourite person after Mummy and Daddy. Sometime's Dapin comes even before Daddy (he's a ladies man as much as Jasmine's is a man's lady... this does not bode well for Mum and Dad in their teens!)
Hayak: kayak
Chino: babycino - since Daddy got his coffee machine the kids get one every day at breakfast with their poggie. Lucky ducks.
Tar: guitar
Leylee: ukulele
Cooter: scooter. A big hit birthday present from Grandma and Poppa
Noisy pants: the pants Daddy wears when using noisy gardening tools like the gurney, lawnmower and whipper snipper
Tiss & Tuddle: kiss and cuddle. Jasmine used to say this too and I just adored it. This time I wont be correcting it.

Maths lesson

Equation:

11 degrees
+ dark
+ rainy
+ Friday night
+ after 10 days of sick children (and sick mummy)
= Happy Meals!

Jasmine said:
"Mum, I been waiting for this for years! 'Cos I never have this before, do I mum?"

Unsurprisingly, nobody ate their pickle (the only green part of dinner).
