The things they say...

Beau's had a huge word spurt over the last couple of months. His language is really coming together now, although he still tends to repeat the same word over and over and over and OVER until someone repeats it back to him.

Beau: Noisy. Noisy. Noisy. Noisy! Noisy! Noisy! NOISY! NOISY!
Mum: Yes, Beau. It is noisy, isn't it.
Beau: Yeah (nods head).

Beau: Hungee. Hungee. Hungee. Hungee. Hungee! Hungee! Hungee!! HUNGEE! HUNGEE!
Mum: Are you hungry Beau?
Beah: Yeah (nods head).

Beau: Backoom. Backoom. Backoom. Backoom! Backoom! Backoom! BACKOOM! BACKOOM!
Mum: Yes, Beau. It's the vacuum.
Beau: Yeah (nods head).
(As an aside, Beau is obsessed with cleaning equipment. In particular, the broom, the mop and the vacuum. When I [very rarely] clean the floors I have two little 'helpers' chasing around after me trying to get hold of whatever cleaning implement I'm using. Beau usually tries to climb on top of the vacuum cleaner to ride it around, and will spend 10 minutes after I've finished with it pushing it around and turning it on and off. His child carers have also picked up on this interest, and now offer him a broom for sweeping to distract him when I drop him off in the mornings.)

Beau: UCK! UCK! UCK! UCK!!! UCK!!!! UCK!!!!
Mum: Yes, Beau. It's a truck!
Beau: Yeah (nods head).
(Another aside... Beau's favourite book is one Grandma gave to Jasmine before our trip to Canada because it had a few pictures of planes on it, amongst a whole lot of other 'Things That Go!'. Jasmine would have looked at it twice, if that. But Beau loves all things moving; trucks, buses, trams, trains, planes, hot air balloons, helicopters, boats, fire engines, diggers etc. etc. I've just about reached my limits of endurance feigning excitement and enthusiasm when he points out the big loader 15 times a day.)

Yesterday he pointed at something on Daddy's bedside table and said "Pa Bad". I was taken by surprise, partly because he never calls Daddy, 'Pa', and partly because he's not old enough to think of his Dad as being 'Bad' yet. I thought we would have had another decade at least for that! I looked over to see the iPad.

But my two favourite things Beau has been saying lately are "Tuddle and Tiss" (cuddle and kiss). Both of which he is very generous with, both in word and deed. Scrumptious.

Ballerina Jasmine

Jasmine has started ballet in earnest this year, and despite being a little nervous before her second class today, she pepped up when she saw her kinder friend, Arabella sitting on the sparkly rug, ready to get started with their teacher, Miss Jude.

There's not much graceful ballet in a class of stomping, jumping 3 year-olds, but it is completely heart-meltingly gorgeous to see all the girls in their ballet costumes dancing their little hearts out.
