The big Lawrences
The big Lawrences had a day out to the Kooyong Classic tennis final last weekend. Here's us in the fancy ACM Endeavour box where we saw Tomic (the Aussie underdog) win the final!
Hot summer days
What do you do with two Little Lawrences on hot summer days?
A train ride! Air conditioned comfort and hours of entertainment for the bargain price of $3!
I took The Little Lawrences on a train ride (to the city and back - thrilling stuff) on the weekend. We stopped at Flinders Street Station for 15 minutes to watch the arrivals and departures over some apple and cheese, and then caught another train through the city loop tunnel (also a big thrill) to a station on our way home for a coffee & smoothie & pat of the dogs, before geting on a third train back home again, with a park stop on the way.

Aunt Muddy's Visit
The Little Lawrences had a fabulous time with Aunt Muddy during her recent visit, not least because she came armed with lots of bubbles to blow, and things to cut, paste, stick and draw on! Jasmine now knows how to use scissors and Beau still asks for 'bubble?' after dinner.
Aunt Muddy took them in her stride, literally walking them 3km each way to Jasmine's swimming lessons the days I was working, plus outings to the zoo, on the tram and to the Library for Story Time. I'm not sure who had more fun.
Aunt Muddy left two weeks ago, yet tonight I was showing Beau our family photo album and straight away he pointed to her photo and said "Muddy!".
We can't wait for her next visit (hint, hint!).

Beau the bath shitter - the next installment
My little man Beau is a very good shitter. He shits all day long, and can pump out up to 4 some days. Aunt Muddy tells me this is a sign of a very healthy body. I think it is a sign of a very stinky boy.
One of his regular movement moments is right after dinner, which happens to fall at bath time (as previous blogs will attest). After weeks of bath shitting events (and I'm guessing upwards of 40 poop and scoop evenings here, so not to be sniffed at. Literally), we seemed to FINALLY get the hang of dumping before plunking. And so, bath time became peaceful once again.
However, sadly, Beau has been back to his old tricks again of late, and we've had several baths cut short after he's cut one off mid-swim.
But, as every mum has to do at some point every day, I have come up with a new plan (I think maybe motherhood is the motherhood of invention). I've pulled out Jasmine's old potty and when I see a certain look of concentration pass his face I quickly remove him from the bath and give him a little squat time.
And last night it paid dividends! Beau the bath shitter became Beau the potty pooer! Yippee! We were all thrilled. Beau was a bit frightened of the poo however, as he's become used to a lot of gasping, frowning, yelping and quick removal when one of the suckers is spotted in the bath. It took him quite a lot of pointing and 'yuck!'ing before he calmed down enough for me to give him a congratulatory cuddle.
I just wished I'd checked he'd got it all out before I put my arms around him and squeezed.
